Shinco plans to launch portable DVD players

THE $1-billion Chinese consumer electronics company Shinco will launch some of its high-end products in India soon. Shinco will market its products through a tie up with the Singapore-based Future Techno Design.

Shinco, which is the largest manufacturer of DVD players in China, also manufactures and supplies electronic products to Toshiba and Hitachi. The Future Techno Design Business Manager, Mr Santosh Abraham, told Business Line that in India, Shinco will market portable DVD players costing between Rs 10,000 and Rs 20,000. Shinco specialises in manufacturing portable DVD players for the world market. The products will initially be marketed in Bangalore and later launched in other cities. Future Techno Design will also market Shinco's LCD TVs and GPS navigation systems.
