Automobile Components Amara Raja net up at Rs 6.86 cr on higher volumes Our Bureau
Chennai , Jan. 25 AMARA Raja Batteries Ltd has reported a profit after tax of Rs 6.86 crore on sales of Rs 97.77 crore in the third quarter of this year compared to a profit of Rs 1.42 crore on sales of Rs 60.50 crore for the same period last year. The growth in revenue and profit for the quarter under review is the result of increase in volumes and market share, both in industrial and automotive, according to a company press release. For the nine months ending December 31, 2005 the company report a profit of Rs 14.65 crore on sales of Rs 252.07 crore against a profit of Rs 8.20 crore on sales of Rs 154.42 crore for the same period last year. The company's revenues and profits in the first nine months of this year are higher than the figures for the whole of 2004-05, according to the release. In 2004-05, the company posted a net profit of Rs 8.69 crore on sales of Rs 218.68 crore.
