Metals Nava Bharat Ferro Q3 net plunges Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Jan. 25 NAVA Bharat Ferro Alloys Ltd (NBFAL) has suffered a substantial fall in net profit for the third quarter of current fiscal ended December 2005 despite a significant growth in turnover. As per the unaudited financial results, the company achieved a total income of Rs 113.1 crore as against Rs 104.63 crore in the corresponding quarter of previous fiscal and a net profit of Rs 4.06 crore (Rs 22.87 crore), yielding an EPS of Rs 0.61 (Rs 17.13) on an equity of Rs 13.35 crore. For the nine months period ended December 2005, the company's turnover stood at Rs 349.03 crore (Rs 343.86 crore) and net profit at Rs 38.47 crore (Rs 99.06 crore), yielding an EPS of Rs 5.76 (Rs 74.16). The company suffered a loss of Rs 8.17 crore in ferro alloys segment during the quarter under review as against a profit of Rs 22.62 crore in the corresponding quarter of previous fiscal. For the nine months period, the loss from ferro alloys segment stood at Rs 1.84 crore compared to a profit of Rs 85.83 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal.
