Petroleum IGL net profit up 32.5 pc Our Bureau
New Delhi , Jan. 25 INDRAPRASTHA Gas Ltd (IGL), the supplier of compressed natural gas (CNG) and piped natural gas (PNG) in the Capital, clocked a 32.5-per cent increase in net profit for the third quarter of financial year 2005-06 ended December 31, 2005. The company's net profit increased to Rs 29.32 crore (from Rs 22.13 crore in the corresponding period of last year). IGL registered a sales value increase of 17.5 per cent in financial terms over the corresponding period last year, a company statement said. IGL has 142 CNG stations in the NCT of Delhi including two in Noida. Over 1.06 lakh vehicles in Delhi are currently running on CNG, which include over 20,000 private vehicles. The company is aiming at increasing its customer base by encouraging conversion of a greater number of private cars to CNG mode, the statement said. Efforts are also being made towards encouraging conversion of Light Goods Vehicles to CNG mode, it stated. In the PNG segment, over 40,000 households in Delhi are currently being supplied. The network is being further expanded to new areas in Delhi and IGL aims over 50,000 in the current financial year.
