ICICI PruLife premium up 76 pc at Rs 588 cr

ICICI Prudential Life Insurance has registered a 76 per cent growth in the third quarter of the current fiscal, taking its new business weighted premium to Rs 588 crore, up from Rs 335 crore in the corresponding period the previous year.

Of this, retail premium comprised Rs 534 crore, and group premium Rs 54 crore. The company has written 2,13,947 policies for a total sum assured of Rs 5,290 crore.

The company also increased its capital base by Rs 100 crore in the third quarter, taking its total paid-up capital to Rs 1,185 crore.
