Italian co Safilo to market sunglasses here

NEW DELHI: The Safilo Group of Italy, manufacturers and distributors of eyewear of international fashion brands, has formally announced its entry in the country.

The brands that the group would offer in India include Giorgio Armani, Gucci, Dior, YSL and Polo Ralph Lauren, among others.

The eyewear of Safilo is available only through licence in the country till now. The company would now directly market the sunglasses in India.

Speaking about the company's prospects, Mr Amarbir Singh, Regional Sales and Marketing Manager, Safilo India, said: "In five-years' time, we hope to be selling about half-a-million pairs per year."
