Dairy & Dairy Products Britannia Q3 PAT up 20 pc Our Bureau
Mumbai , Jan. 27 BRITANNIA Industries Ltd has reported a 20.2 per cent increase in its profit after tax at Rs 35.7 crore for the December 2005 quarter against Rs 29.7 crore in the year-ago period. Total income moved up 17.5 per cent to Rs 451.5 crore from Rs 384.6 crore in the year-ago period. The topline growth was fuelled by several new marketing and sales initiatives, both nationally as well as regionally, the company said in a news release. The growth in the quarter was lead by innovation and the launch of several products such as 50-50 Pepper Chakkar, MarieGold Doubles, Greetings and Tiger Cream. "The company continued its focus on operating efficiencies and accelerated the full utilisation of its new production facility at Uttaranchal," the release said. The company informed the BSE that its board has appointed Mr Georges Casala as a Director in the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr John Martin Miller. Shares of Britannia moved up by Rs 8.30 to Rs 1,490 on the BSE.
