IOC group cos' net slides

MUMBAI: Bongaigaon Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (BRPL), the stand-alone refining subsidiary of Indian Oil Corporation, saw its net profit during the third quarter fall 80 per cent to Rs 26.15 crore compared to Rs 133.62 crore for the same quarter in the previous year.

BRPL's total Income (net of excise) for the quarter increased to Rs 1,598.44 crore from Rs 1,179.75 crore a year back.

The company's net profit for the nine-month period fell by 34 per cent to Rs 144.11 crore from Rs 426.75 crore in the previous comparable quarter.

Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd (CPCL), another IOC group company, registered a net profit of Rs 21.28 crore for the third quarter, which is a 76 per cent decrease from Rs 88.26 crore in the previous third quarter. Total income (net of excise), however went up to Rs 5,474.14 crore from Rs 4,111.73 crore a year back.

The CPCL board of directors declared a 30 per cent interim dividend for the current fiscal. The third quarter GRMs stood at $ 2.67 per barrel as against $ 3.83 per barrel during the same quarter the previous year.
