New Products & Services Surya launches `TVS Star City' Our Bureau
Coimbatore , Jan. 29 TVS Motor Company has formally launched `Star City', its 100cc four-stroke executive class variant of economy model bike, in Coimbatore. The bike was today introduced to the city by the Tamil film actor Surya who has been signed by the company as its brand ambassador. Though `Star city' was actually introduced in the market a month ago, the film star's presence here today marked the delivery of the 1001 bike . Mr K. Ramakrishnan, Assistant General Manager, marketing, TVS Motor Company said that since the Star range bike launch on all-India basis in September last, his company had sold four lakh bikes including 1.8 lakh units of Star City . Mr R. Sankaran, AGM, Sales, TVS Motor said his company's share in the economy model bikes works out to 27 per cent and in Tamil Nadu market, the share is at 22 per cent.
