Mussel power

K.K. Mustafah

Workers engaged in mussel farming in suburban Kochi. Mussels stand unique by virtue of high returns among several species of cultivable bivalves. Mussel production in the State has recorded 800 tonnes and is expected to double by 2008. The national production stands at 10,000 tonnes and it is expected to double in the coming years.
