Gandhigram, Mico Bosch pact

Our Correspondent

MADURAI: The Gandhigram Rural Institute (GRI), Gandhigram, near here, has recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Mico Bosch, leading auto components manufacturer, to start need-base short-term technology courses at the institute.

According to the GRI Vice-Chancellor, Dr T. Karunakaran, the Departments of Rural Technology Centre and Rural Industries and Management would start the courses in power tool technology, auto diagnostics and packaging technology with the support from Mico Bosch.

While the GRI would provide the basic teaching kits required for the courses, the faculty of Mico would visit the institute often to extend technical support. GRI and Mico would jointly certify these programmes, he added.
