Nabard sanctions Rs 82.4 cr to Kerala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned Rs 82.38 crore to the Government of Kerala for the implementation of various projects.
According to a Nabard press release, this amount has been sanctioned from the bank's Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF). Projects covered by this credit include a veterinary college in Wayanad district, fishing harbours in Kayamkulam and Neendakara, a medium irrigation project in Palakkad district, minor irrigation projects in 10 districts and 49 roads and four bridges in 13 districts, the release said.
These projects are expected to generate 9 lakh recurring jobs and non-recurring employment of 25.59 lakh mandays during the implementation period.
With this, the cumulative sanctions under RIDF XI (2005-06) have gone up to Rs 186.54 crore and the overall sanctions in the State under RIDF are Rs 1,503.34 crore covering 3,554 projects, the press release said.
