Events MMA convention begins in Chennai tomorrow Our Bureau
Chennai , Feb. 1 "THIS India Knows No Boundaries''. That is the theme of the Madras Management Association's (MMA) golden jubilee convention to be held in Chennai on February 3-4. According to an MMA release, the Union Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Mr Dayanidhi Maran, will inaugurate the convention and the Tamil Nadu Governor, Mr Sujit Singh Barnala, will preside. Quoting MMA's President, Mr D.P. Padmanabhan, the release said business leaders and professionals would forecast development in information technology, pharma and healthcare, retail, media and entertainment, and manufacturing and engineering. Over 800 delegates are expected to participate in the convention. MMA is the largest affiliate of the All-India Management Association and has emerged its best Local Management Association consecutively since 2001-02. The convention will conclude with an address by Mr Gurcharan Das, former CEO of Procter & Gamble and author of India Unbound. The speakers include Mr Ajai Chowdhry, Chairman and CEO of HCL Infosystems; Mr Shanker Annaswamy, Managing Director of IBM Indial; Mr G.V. Prasad, Executive Vice-Chairman and CEO of Dr Reddy's Laboratories; Mr Subir Raha, Chairman and Managing Director of ONGC; Mr B.V.R. Subbu, President of Hyundai Motor India; and Prof Marti G. Subrahmanyam, Charles E Merill Professor of Finance and Economics, Stern School of Busines, New York University.
