Thiruvananthapuram , Feb. 1

THE Kerala budget for 2006-07 will be presented in the State Assembly on February 10.

The budget session of the Assembly will commence on February 3 with the customary Governor's address. The 15-day session will conclude on February 24, the Assembly Speaker, Mr Therambil Ramakrishnan, said here on Wednesday.

The Finance Minister, Mr Vakkom Purushothaman, will present a full budget for the year and vote-on-account for the first four months. Only the vote-on-account will be put for voting in view of the Assembly elections to be held in May.

The Speaker said that the session would be rescheduled if the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, visits the State on February 7 and 8. However, the dates of his visit are yet to be confirmed.
