Sirpur Paper Mills net rise 34 pc

NEW DELHI: Andhra Pradesh-based Sirpur Paper Mills has reported a 34-per cent increase in its net profit at Rs 5.01 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2005 compared to Rs 3.73 crore in the corresponding period last year, the company said in a release here.

The revenue during the same period rose by 7 per cent to Rs 61.47 crore against Rs 57.49 crore in the corresponding period last year, the company said in a release.

For the nine month period ending December 31, the net profit declined by 6.6 per cent to Rs 11.04 crore compared to Rs 11.82 crore in the year-ago period.

Commenting on the expansion plans, Mr Devashish Poddar, Chief Operating Officer, Sirpur Paper Mills Ltd, said, "The Rs 294 crore expansion-cum-modernisation programme is expected to be completed by the end of 2006."
