Incubation centre for entrepreneurs

AN incubation centre for entrepreneurs is being set up at the Electronics City here.

Mr B.V. Naidu, Director, Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), said that the facility, with an investment of $2-2.5 million, would be launched on February 24.

He was speaking here at a entrepreneurship acceleration programme organised by The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE).

The 21-room, 25,000 sq ft facility is due to the combined effort of the Karnataka Government and STPI.

TiE has a fund of Rs 2 crore and has signed on mentors, service providers for creating an ecosystem (by networking and creating a support system) for entrepreneurs.

Mr Ashok Soota, Board Member, TiE, and Chairman and CEO, MindTree, said, "This will help entrepreneurs tap into the expertise of those who have already `been there, done that'."
