Software IBS sets up second base in Kochi Our Bureau
Thiruvananthapuram , Feb. 3 TRAVEL, Transportation and Logistics (TTL) major IBS Software Services has taken up floor space of 32,000 sq. ft at the Leela Infopark at the Infopark campus in Kochi where it will add 350 more to the rolls. Having started its Kochi operations in July 2005 at the nearby Thapasya building, this will be IBS' second facility within the Infopark. "This is in line with our aggressive ramp-up plans. The space will be just enough for us to cater to the requirements for the next six months. The Kochi centre can seat about 500 software professionals," said Mr V.K. Mathews, Chairman of the IBS Group. "We are extremely happy that IBS has taken space at the Leela Infopark. IBS moving in is a recognition of the world-class facilities that we provide," said Mr Venu Krishnan, Executive Director of the Leela Group. IBS has expanded its original base in Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram, where it operates out of two buildings that can accommodate close to 700 software professionals. About 12,000 sq. ft. of space was recently added at the Nila building, which houses the group headquarters. As a first step towards actualising its plan to ramp up operations, IBS had acquired five acres of land inside the Technopark campus in May last year. In the coming financial year, IBS intends to recruit about 700 to 1,000 software professionals. It plans to recruit at the ongoing IT Kerala 2006 fair in Kochi.
