Dinsha Patel assumes charge in Oil Ministry

MR Dinsha J. Patel took over as the new Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas here on Friday.

After assuming office, he met Mr Murli Deora, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, an official release said.

Latter, Mr Patel was later briefed about the Ministry and the hydrocarbon sector by senior officials.

Elected to the present Lok Sabha from Kaira Constituency in Gujarat, this is Mr Patel's fourth term to the Lok Sabha.

As a Parliamentarian, he has been on various committees including the Committee on Railways, Consultative Committees of the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

Besides, Mr Patel was Member of the committees on Commerce and the External Affairs, the release said.
