THE food and beverages industry in the country is expected to grow at the rate of 8-8.5 per cent in the current fiscal, according to a Food and Beverages survey carried out by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

While the semi-cooked ready-to-eat food segment and wines are slated to witness a growth rate of 22 per cent, the vegetable oil segment is expected to grow by 20 per cent.

The survey is based on responses from the representatives of public sector undertakings, government, and the industry.
