Human Resources Wipro to expand Kochi facility Our Bureau
Kochi , Feb. 6 SOFTWARE major Wipro Ltd expects its Kochi unit to generate $500-$600 million in exports by 2010 when the facility will have around 8,000 people. "Kochi will be one of the four main centres for Wipro's product engineering," said Mr Rajesh Ram Mishra, Vice-President and Business Head, Embedded and Access Solutions Division of Wipro Technologies. The company began its operations in Kochi a year ago. It operates out of two buildings at Infopark, a state-owned IT infrastructure in the outskirts. The company has 200 people in Kochi, engaged in developing technologies in the areas such as Very Large System Integration, embedded software and data warehousing. Mr Mishra said Wipro would soon start building its own campus in a 25-acre plot within Infopark.
