T.C. Nair takes over as SEBI member

Mumbai , Feb. 7

DR Thumparampil Chandran Nair took charge as whole time member of the Securities and Exchange Board of India, on Monday.

Prior to this, Dr Nair was the Managing Director of Bharatiya Reserve Bank Note Mudran Ltd, Bangalore, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Reserve Bank of India. A central banker by profession, Dr Nair has held various important positions in the RBI since February 1978.

He was the Chief General Manager, Department of External Investments and Operations, General Manager of Internal Debt Management Department, General Manager - Currency Management, senior faculty member - Bankers' Training College, Assistant Chief Officer in the Department of Banking Operations and Development and Assistant Director in the Management Services Department.
