Gujarat Ambuja transport union stir

Our Bureau

Mumbai , Feb. 8

GUJARAT Ambuja Cements is facing transportation problems at its Himachal unit following a strike by the transport union.

The union went on strike on January 29. The company had immediately sought the Government's intervention. "The same being a contempt of court order, it was thought that they would resume work soon," said the company in a notice to the stock exchanges.

The transporters have not yet resumed work, but the company is "exploring all the possible options for their resuming transportation from the company's Himachal unit at the earliest," said its notice.
