AIMED at helping people going in for first-time house construction, ACC proposes to set up customer help centres at its retail outlets across the State for providing information on quality of materials, construction practices, and cost estimates.

Mr Rajiv Kumar, Senior Manager (Marketing), told newspersons on Tuesday that ACC proposes to open five such centres at Srinagar Colony here, Ibrahimpatnam, Adoni, Kurnool, and Nalgonda.

The company has plans to open five more centres in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad before the year-end. The idea is to have at least one in each district headquarters in the State, Mr Kumar said.

Apart from the help centres at retail outlets, the company is providing a series of eight booklets titled `ACC Home Guides' for educating the customers right from planning to the maintenance of their house. The company also provides all the information at its Web site, www.askacc.com.

Further, ACC is planning to open help centres in major cities and towns of the State for providing training to interested customers going for house construction. At a fee of Rs 200 a head, the company plans to provide six hours of training to customers.

The company will also introduce `Grihamithra' services to customers through mobile concrete testing laboratories that visit the customer sites and guide them on good construction practices and help them achieve good concrete by performing various field tests. The company plans to have seven such mobile vans initially.
