NMDC declares 2nd interim; Q3 net up

NATIONAL Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has declared for the first time a second dividend of 115.4 per cent. This is in addition to the 76.93 per cent already paid in November 2005.

For the quarter ended December 31, 2005, NMDC earned a net profit of Rs 1,273.42 crore, up from Rs 486.19 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The net sales was Rs 2,569.07 crore for the quarter under review, against Rs 1,436.59 crore for the same period last year. The earnings per share touched Rs 96.35 (Rs 36.79).
