THE GVK-Airport South Africa consortium that has been shortlisted for modernisation and restructuring of Mumbai airport submitted the Rs 500-crore enhanced bid bond to the Airports Authority of India here on Friday.

The submission of the enhanced bid bond by GVK should give a boost to the Government's attempt to modernise the airports in Delhi and Mumbai.

The other shortlisted bidder, the GMR-Fraport consortium, submitted its Rs 500-crore bid bond earlier this week.

The GMR consortium is to modernise the airport at Delhi.
