NEC's low-cost laptop

BANGALORE: Japanese PC maker NEC has announced a 14" widescreen notebook priced at Rs 44,000.

The NEC VERSA E3100 weighs 2.2 kg and is targeted at both consumer and commercial customers who are conscious of performance and weight as well as design.

It is powered by the latest Intel Pentium M Processor and preloaded with a Rapid 15-minute Recovery programme to safeguard user data. Alternately, the NEC VERSA E3100 is being made available with Intel Celeron M processor with integrated Combo or DVD Dual disk drive.

It is available in MS Windows XP Home and Pro.
