Letters Re 1 STD calls
This refers to the announcement by state-owned telecom companies of Re 1 per minute STD calls rate. This is indeed a great step in the right direction. But it is just the beginning; the long-term goal should be to provide landline or mobile connection in each and every village of the country. There are still thousands of villages that do not have even electricity leave alone telephone facility. So, if we want to achieve overall development and growth we need to empower this section.
