Our Correspondent

Kottayam , Feb. 13

SPOT rubber prices declined sharply following a similar trend in international futures. Hectic selling from dealers hammered the market in the absence of quantity buyers.

According to sources major manufactures also stayed back from the main marketing centres to cool down the prices.

NMCEFebruary contract was traded at Rs 80.60 (81.26), March contract at Rs 82.15 (84.24), April contract at Rs 84.33 (86.35) and May contract at Rs 86.16 (88.34) per kg for RSS 4.

The April delivery contract for RSS 4 moved down to Rs 84.49 from Rs 85.34 a kg on MCX.

The March futures for RSS 3 surrendered 6 Yen (Rs 2.24) to hit the lower circuit at 248 Yen (Rs 93.21) against 254 Yen a kg at TOCOM.

Spot rates a kg were: RSS-4: Rs 80.50 (81.50); RSS-5: Rs 79.50 (79.50); ungraded: Rs 77.50 (78.50); ISNR 20: Rs 79.25 (79.75); and latex 60%: Rs 57 (58).
