Corp Bank launches e-payment for excise duty remittances

Mangalore , Feb. 13

CORPORATION Bank has launched e-payment facility for remittance of Central Excise duty by the assessees.

A bank release said here on Monday that the customers of authorised core branches could avail themselves of this facility. They can log on to the bank's Web site (www.corpbank.com) and invoke online payment facility, fill up the challan, and authorise the entry. The system will debit the party's account online and issue the acknowledgment, it said.

Launching the facility at the bank's head office, Mr V.N. Kaila, Principal Chief Controller of Accounts, Central Board of Excise and Customs, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, New Delhi, highlighted the conveniences of the e-mode of payment.

The Chairman and Managing Director, Corporation Bank, Mr V.K. Chopra, who presided over the function, said that the bank would spare no efforts in efficient conduct of Government business. Mr K.L. Gopalakrishna, Executive Director, Corporation Bank, was also present .
