Ayurveda meet for French team at Kochi

KOCHI: The Continuing Ayurveda Awareness Programme (CAAP) has conducted a seminar for a group of French professionals on the curative possibilities of lifestyle diseases through Ayurveda.

The seminar, held at Punarnava Ayurveda Hosptial here, highlighted the various aspects of this traditional system of medicine to the French team comprising of allopathic doctors, educationists, environmentalists and educationists.

Dr A.M. Anwar, President of the CAAP, said the tourism industry and other departments, while showcasing Ayurveda as an attraction to tourists, should not forget the supreme goal of Ayurveda and its treatments. The aim of Ayurveda and its applications are for the patient care and to bring a life in harmony with the nature, he said in a press release.

Dr B. Rajiv, official spokesperson of the Ayurveda Medical Association of India, who also participated in the discussions, said that the Western world is showing keen interest in the curative aspects of Ayurveda.

The French team also visited and interacted with the inpatients of the hospital and had many health queries about treatments in Ayurveda for anxiety, depression, lifestyle and degenerative diseases.
