Computer Society (Vizag) to hold seminar on e-security

THE Computer Society of India, Visakhapatnam chapter, is organising a seminar on e-security for two days from February 25. The inaugural session will be held on the evening of February 24.

Mr P.K Bishnoi, Director, Finance, Visakhapatnam steel plant, who is the Chairman of the local chapter, told presspersons here that several experts would present papers on e-security at the seminar. "As the use of computers is increasing in all walks of life, e-security assumes greater significance. Data security is of the utmost importance,'' he said.

He said several companies such as the VSP, Oracle and IBM were supporting the seminar. The number of delegates may be around 300, he said.

``The delegate fee for the members of the CSI is Rs 2,000 and for others Rs 3,000. For students, it has been fixed at Rs 500 (others) and Rs 300 (sons and daughters of CSI members). NRIs and foreign delegates will have to pay $100,'' he said. A paper would be presented on cyber laws, he added.
