Extended lifecycle support

BANGALORE: Intel Corporation has announced the offer of extended lifecycle support for its Core Duo processor.

Developers of embedded solutions such as industrial control, test and instrumentation, aerospace, defence and medical imaging systems would now be able to work on the Core Duo, said the release issued by the company.

The company will provide a full set of software tools, including compilers, performance analysers and thread checkers, to assist developers in maximising application performance and to fully exploit concurrent threading.

The Core Duo processor is available now at speeds of 2.0 GHz and 1.66 GHz for $423 and $316, respectively, each in 1,000-unit quantities.
