India, Thailand agree to increase flight seats

New Delhi , Feb. 15

INDIA and Thailand have agreed to progressively increase the number of seats being offered by their respective airlines on routes between the two countries.

At the conclusion of the bilateral air services talks, the two sides agreed that the number of seats that the two countries can offer on a weekly basis would increase to 9,216 seats per week from this year's summer schedule, reach 13,136 by the summer schedule of next year and peak at 18,671 seats by the airlines summer schedule of 2009.

The agreement allows the designated airlines to start flights to and from Hyderabad. Similarly, the airlines from India have been allowed to operate flights from Thailand onwards to Cambodia or Taiwan.
