Visakhapatnam , Feb. 15

NATIONAL Aluminium Company Ltd (Nalco) has opened a stockyard of its products at Baddi in Himachal Pradesh, according to a press release.

The stockyard was opened on Tuesday by the Chairman and Managing Director, Mr C.R. Pradhan, in the presence of local customers and company officials.

The Baddi stockyard will cater to the needs of customers in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. The company has seven other stockyards — one each at Jaipur, Kolkata, Vizag, Bangalore, Bhiwandi, Faridabad and Silvasa.

Mr Pradhan said the Baddi stockyard would help improve the company's presence and performance in the northern region and add to the domestic market share.

During 2004-05, the company achieved the highest-ever metal sale of 2,05,700 tonnes in the domestic market. It achieved 23.5 growth in domestic sales during the year and its market share increased from 25 per cent to 27 per cent.
