Mangalore-Madgaon Jan Shatabdi flagged off

MANGALORE: The Member of Parliament of Mangalore, Mr D.V. Sadananda Gowda, flagged off the Mangalore-Madgaon Jan Shatabdi Express at the Mangalore Railway station on Wednesday.

The train will run on all days except Wednesdays from Madgaon and except Thursdays from Mangalore. The train no. 2072, which leaves Mangalore at 7 a.m., reaches Madgaon at 11.10 a.m.

The train number 2071, which leaves Madgaon at 1.55 p.m., reaches Mangalore at 7.45 p.m. On the route, the train stops at Udupi, Bhatkal, Ankola and Karwar.

The Union Minister of State for Railways, Mr Velu, flagged off the Jan Shatabdi Express at Madgaon on February 14.

Mr Gowda told presspersons on the occasion that a special meeting of the officials of the South Western Railway would be held in Mysore on February 18 to discuss various railway projects in the State.

He said that the commissioning of Mangalore-Bangalore railway route, via Hassan, is one among them.
