Korean Air plans regular cargo services between Incheon, Chennai

KOREAN Air is set to launch regular cargo services between Incheon and Chennai.

This will be in addition to the carrier's present cargo services to New Delhi and Mumbai.

According to air cargo industry sources, Korean Air proposes to offer one cargo flight every week immediately, with plans to upgrade it to twice a week from May.

A B747-400 freight will be pressed into the service to Chennai. Chennai, it might be noted, is the home to production facilities of may Korean companies such as Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, Hyundai Motor, among others.

The service to Chennai will depart Incheon every Thursday late evening, arriving Bangkok for a stopover and then arriving Chennai in the early hours of every Friday.

The return flight will leave Chennai after a couple of hours reaching Incheon the same afternoon, the sources add.
