India, Italy agree for more flights

INDIA and Italy have agreed to not only increase air services between the two countries but also decided to allow more than one airline from each country to operate flights.

This was firmed up during the air services agreement talks between the two countries here. The agreement allows the designated airlines to operate 24 flights a week in each direction including a three-times-a-week flight on the Rome-Delhi or return sectors. Besides, the designated airlines from Italy have been allowed to operate a daily flight from and to Kolkata.

In addition, the Italian airlines have been permitted to take passengers from Mumbai to either Bangkok or Yangon.

Similarly, Indian carriers have been permitted to pick up passengers from Italy and take them to Vienna, Geneva, Zurich, Prague, Paris, Brussels, Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Copenhagen, London, Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver, Boston, New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
