Our Bureau

NEW DELHI: In an effort to make Indian food more popular overseas and thus expand food exports, India would participate in the international exhibition — Food and Hotel Asia (FHA) 2006, to be held in Singapore during April 25-28.

The Indian contingent, being organised by the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), would be represented by 10 companies in the sector. Speaking at a conference, the Deputy General Manager, APEDA, Mr Tarun Bajaj, said: "Singapore is an important market for India. Indian food products are extremely popular here among both the ethnic Indian as well as the mainstream population. Therefore, the aim is to strengthen the base of Indian companies here further."
