Commodity Markets Edible oils down on fresh offers
Mumbai: All major edible oils reacted marginally on the local edible oils market on Friday on fresh offerings. Groundnut oil raw was down Re 1 at Rs 437 per 10 kg. RBD palmolein was down Re 1 at Rs 372 per 10 kg. Imported refined soya oil was down Re 1 at Rs 361 per 10 kg. Crude soya oil was up Rs 2 at Rs 340 per 10 kg. Castor oil commercial grade was up Re 1 at Rs 322 per 10 kg. In futures segment, castor seed April contracts ended Rs 15 higher at Rs 1,541 per quintal over previous close. Sugar rules weak Mumbai: Sugar spot prices continued to rule weak at the Vashi wholesale market on Friday on some offerings. Small grade (S-30) was down Rs 5 at Rs 1,918/1,956 per quintal over previous day. Medium grade (M-30) was down Rs 5 at Rs 1,936/1,986 per quintal over previous close. Maize gains New Delhi: In thin trading, maize strengthened in the wholesale grains market on Friday on increased buying by stockists against limited arrivals. Maida and sooji prices eased on reduced offtake.
Maize attracted good buying support from stockists on tight stocks and quoted higher at Rs 650-660 a quintal. Maida and sooji eased to Rs 1,020-1,030 and Rs 1,050-1,060 against last close of Rs 1,030-1,040 and Rs 1,065-1,075 per 90 kg respectively.
