ISPs Corporate - Diversification Magnum International applies for ISP licence Our Bureau
New Delhi , Feb. 19 MAGNUM International Ltd, a group company of Magnum Steel, is all set to enter the Internet service provider (ISP) business. The company has applied for an ISP licence and hopes to start its operations around the beginning of next financial year. The company is currently engaged in providing registration to domain names, web designing and hosting and plans to integrate all the services over the next two years. According to Magnum International Director, Ms Sashi Jindal, the company has already sold prestigious domains such as rasthrapatibhavan.in, congress.org.in, aicc.org.in, americanexpress.co.in, to name a few. "Initially, we have applied for an ISP licence for the Delhi telecom circle, which would be a category B licence for an ISP. Once we consolidate our services in this circle, we would be looking at other circles and would first target the metros so that we graduate to being a Category A service provider," Ms Jindal said. The company also runs a small cable TV service, which it plans to integrate with its Internet business. "We are in talks with CDAC for the appropriate technology but have not yet been able to take any final decision," she said.
