The Hindu Business Line : Opera Software to open development centre

NORWAY-based Opera Software, whose Opera Web browser competes with Internet Explorer and Firefox, today announced that it would open a development centre in Chandigarh.

"The planned office, to be located in Chandigarh, will initially employ quality assurance testers supporting Opera's full range of product offerings and Opera's `Open the Web' evangelists," the company said in an e-mail.

Opera Software's Chief Executive Officer, Mr Jon S. von Tetzchner, is visiting India this week and will be in Mumbai and Delhi.
