UTV's new animation facility

UTV has said that it has invested in a new animation facility with 225 workstations with blade render farms and Max software, at its Andheri studio.

The investment for this 25,000 square feet facility is around Rs 24 crore.

This facility is equipped for high definition work for its clients in North America and Europe.

At present, the work output is for 15 movies for direct to home video of some of the famous international classics, a 52-episode TV series and 20 short series.

"In the next 18 months our focus is to emerge a clear leader out of South Asia - not just for service outsourcing but origination of content too," UTV said in a news release quoting Mr Ronnie Screwvala, CEO, UTV.
