THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Cine actor Mammootty will be formally installed as the designated goodwill ambassador of Akshaya e-literacy project at a function here, which will be aired to all 14 district headquarters via videoconferencing.

Christened Mammootty@ Akshaya, the event will be staged here on Saturday, Mr T.K. Manzoor, State Coordinator for Akshaya, said here.

The Chief Minister, Mr Oommen Chandy, will make the official declaration at a function to be held at Gorky Bhavan here. The actor himself will come on line from a base in Ernakulam. The 12 other districts will be roped in electronically into the proceedings through links extended to the respective collectorates.

The IT Secretary, Mr P. H. Kurian, will be present on the occasion. An interactive session featuring the Chief Minister and mediapersons has also been arranged.
