Security Marketing - New Products & Services NeoAccel develops new security tool Our Bureau
Chennai , Feb. 22 NEOACCEL, a company that specialises in Internet security, on Wednesday launched its SSL VPN-plus, a security solution that caters to real time applications such as Voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) and videoconferences. Mr Michel Susai, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, NeoAccel, told a press conference that hitherto most companies were using IPsec VPN as a security solution, but the SSL VPN market is fast catching up. The entire VPN and firewall market is about $3.2 billion, he said, with SSL VPN accounting for about $127 million in 2004. He said IPsec VPN requires high IT support costs, and while it prevents people from accessing the network from outside, there is no way of imposing restrictions on the inside. With SSL VPN on the other hand, companies can control the content that each individual within the organisation has access to, which might account for its increasing popularity Mr Susai expects it to grow to about $900 million by 2009.
