HAVING agreed to reduce the fee for annual membership of the Indian Institute of Insurance Surveyors and Loss Assessors (IIISLA) recently, the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) has now decided to extend the last date for submission of applications to February 28 from the earlier deadline of January 24.

In a notice here on Monday, the regulator said only those surveyors who apply for membership before the due date (February 28) would be eligible to participate in the elections to the first Council of the Institute. The annual membership fee being collected would be valid for the period up to March 31, 2007.

Those who have already paid membership fee as per notice dated November 26 last year are being refunded the excess fee paid, the IRDA said.
