Cochin Chamber to host Indo-Arab meet

The Cochin Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in association with Assocham, is organising an Indo-Arab conference here on Monday at Hotel Le Meridien.
As many as 12 ambassadors from various Arab countries including the Dean of Arab Diplomatic Corps has confirmed their participation, said Mr N. Sreekuma, President of the Cochin Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The conference is proposed to highlight the investment opportunities in the State and to attract tourists from Arab nations. This is for the first time Kochi is hosting so many ambassadors from the Arab countries, he said.
Apart from the deliberations with the ambassadors by the members of the Chamber, Mr Jiji Thomson, Secretary, NORKA and the Director of Tourism, Mr B. Suman, will make a presentation on the tourism potential and the problems of non-resident Keralites. Arrangements are also being made for a presentation on the IT sector and industry sector, Mr Sreekumar said.
The chamber is also organising a live viewing of the Union Budget 2006-07 on Tuesday at Hotel Avenue Regent.
