Speaking at a press conference in the city on Thursday, Mr Ramgopal Vallath, Chief Operating Officer-Kerala, Airtel, said the company plans to add 30 new locations in south Kerala to its mobile network by the end of March. By the end of the current fiscal, the company expects its network to cover 450 locations in Kerala and expects to have 6 lakh subscribers in the State, he added. During the next financial year, the company is looking at improving the coverage of its mobile phone network in existing locations, he said. The company also plans a rural thrust in Kerala over the next few months, Mr Vallath explained. Airtel pre-paid mobile connections are presently sold at approximately 15,000 retail outlets across the State. The company plans to add another 15,000 retailers to this network over the next several months. Also on the cards is a scheme for home delivery of pre-paid recharge coupons, he added.
