Education States - Andhra Pradesh Of best minds and matching mindsets Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Feb. 26 India can claim to be home to the best of minds in the world. "But do we have matching mindsets," asked Mr G. Ramanathan, Regional Head of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). Addressing students at the third annual Convocation of Badruka Institute of Foreign Trade (BIFT) here on Saturday, he said producing mindsets that could match with the best of minds in the world was the challenge before them. "Take the challenge by the horns," he advised the students. Fifty-nine students took the MPIB (Master's Programme in International Business) degrees. The course was being offered in association with the Delhi-based Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT). Mr Ramanathan said the country had moved from a `cost' to a `value' focus and from IT to BPO/KPO (Business and Knowledge process outsourcing). He said export potential in the IT and ITES (information technology enabled services) for the country was put at $60 billion by 2010. Ms Anchal Goel received the first Gold Medal and Rs 50,000 cash. Ms Sweta Singh and Ms Neha Prathap Shetty got the second and third Gold medals, the institute said in a press release.
