Kamal Nath to meet SEZ stakeholders

Our Bureau

New Delhi, Feb 26

The Commerce and Industry Minister, Mr Kamal Nath, has convened an interactive session with Special Economic Zones (SEZ) stakeholders here on March 4. Besides the SEZ developers, Central and State Government representatives, development commissioners, heads of export promotion councils and apex industry associations are to participate in the session.

The meeting would be organised by the Export Promotion Council for EOUs and SEZs. After extensive consultation with various departments of the Central and the State Governments and other stakeholders, the Centre had recently come out with the Rules under the SEZ Act 2005.

At the session the Minister may hear the views of the stakeholders on the thorny issues, if any, relating to the implementation of the rules.
