Hails nod for tea protection fund

Mr Deepak Khaitan, Vice-Chairman of Mcleod Russel India has welcomed the Union Finance Minister's formal approval of the special tea protection fund adding he has assured allocation of Rs 100 crore for replantation activity in the tea sector. Being the world largest bulk tea producer, our company is likely to gain. The average of tea bushes in the country is high. Rejuvenation of the bushes are necessary as it would increase the per hectare yield in the long term. We will have to study the impact of service tax on tea auctioneering, he added.
